On March 28, 2023, the board for Valor Health voted to end all delivery services in the next 60 days. We, along with several other Emmett providers, strongly opposed this decision. We are saddened by their decision and the inevitable impact it will have on the community.
Regardless of Valor’s decision, Gem Family Medicine is still dedicated to providing quality and convenient prenatal, postnatal, and newborn appointments. Our excellent care for expecting moms and newborns will remain uninterrupted by Valor’s changes.
To continue to best serve our community, Dr. Barrus and Dr. Mumford both have delivery and c-section privileges at West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell. Expectant mothers can have the convenience of all of their prenatal care done at our clinic in Emmett. Then moms can choose to have Dr. Barrus or Dr. Mumford deliver at West Valley, or we can help arrange for you to deliver at the hospital of your choice by the obstetrician on call.
